Alarms

With the OAS Alarm Logging and Notifications feature you can attach alarm limits to any of your Tags and trigger alarms and events. Alarms can then be logged using an Alarm Logging Group or you can send notifications using an Alarm Notification Group.

Alarms can be customized to suit your needs by specifying details such:

• Alarm type (High High, High, Low, Low Low, Rate of Change, Digital)
• Alarm limit value
• Alarm text
• Alarm priority
• Alarm group
• Time delay
• Enable time-on and counter statistics

When you create alarm limits and configure alarm logging you can also create visualizations in UIEngine or build your own custom .NET or Web applications to view and manage your alarms and alarm history. OAS provides alarm management through an acknowledgement process.

The alarming feature is available in two different OAS products:

• Alarm .NET - provides alarm logging and notification functionality including integration with Windows Forms and WPF frameworks
• Web Alarm - provides alarm logging and notification functionality including integration with UIEngine and Web controls

The alarm logging functionality supports logging to many different database providers including MS SQL Server, SQL Azure, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MariaDB, Cassandra, SQLite and MS Access (Windows only) as well as CSV files.
