Open Automation Software is excited to announce that the OAS Configuration Application, the primary tool for configuring both local and remote OAS engines, now officially supports Linux. This enhancement makes OAS a truly cross-platform solution, providing unparalleled flexibility and convenience for our users.
Expanding Beyond Windows
While the OAS Engine has long supported Linux, the Configuration Application was previously limited to Windows environments. With this new development, customers are no longer restricted to Windows for managing their OAS configurations. Whether you’re running Windows or Linux, you can now seamlessly configure and manage any OAS engine instance within your network.
Unified Management Across Platforms
The new Linux support means that both the Windows and Linux versions of the Configuration Application can manage OAS instances regardless of the operating system they are running on. This unified approach simplifies operations, reduces dependencies on specific OS platforms, and enhances the overall efficiency of managing the OAS platform.

A Truly Cross-Platform Ecosystem
This update aligns with our commitment to cross-platform compatibility. OAS now offers a comprehensive ecosystem that supports both Windows and Linux, including:
- OAS Engine: The core of the OAS platform, fully operational on both Windows and Linux.
- OAS Configuration Application: Now available for Linux, alongside the existing Windows version.
- Web-Based UIEngine: A no-code development environment accessible from any modern browser.
- APIs: Including the REST API and .NET SDKs, both supporting cross-platform development.

Seamless Remote Management
The OAS Configuration Application is designed to manage not just local instances but also any remote OAS engines reachable within the same network. This capability ensures that whether your OAS engines are deployed on Windows or Linux, you have consistent, reliable access for configuration and management. By setting the Network Node in the toolbar you can manage any OAS engine remotely by IP address or host name. This even works using the Live Data Cloud remote hosting configuration.
Empowering Our Customers
With this release, we’re empowering our customers with greater choice and flexibility. Organizations can now deploy OAS solutions in mixed OS environments without worrying about compatibility issues. The ability to manage OAS engines from either Windows or Linux enhances operational agility and supports diverse IT infrastructures.
