Flexible MQTT Connectivity

The MQTT protocol is used by a wide variety of IoT services and devices. OAS expands the use of your operational data by allowing you to publish and subscribe to topics and customize data payloads.

All interfaces provide access to data directly without the need for proprietary plug ins.

MQTT Data Access

Subscribe to MQTT brokers to receive data.
Parse JSON payloads with no code.
Publish data to MQTT brokers based on event, continuously, or data change.
Construct JSON payloads with no code.
Optionally include timestamp and data quality from originating source.
Store and Forward data on network failures.

Supports Sparkplug B protocol both as a Host Application and as an Edge of Network Node.

Key Features & Benefits

MQTT Client

Subscribe to MQTT Brokers to receive data and move into OAS Tags for monitoring and processing. Act as an MQTT Broker for clients to subscribe to OAS Tags as topics.

Event Based Publishing with Store and Forward

Publish data to MQTT Brokers based on event, continuously, or data change. Include timestamp and data quality from originating source. Enable Store and Forward option to buffer data during service interruptions.

Sparkplug B Support

Supports Sparkplug B protocol both as a Host Application and as an Edge of Network Node.

Data Accuracy & Reliablity

Data from each MQTT broker is processed on-premise in a first-in, first-out (FIFO) manner. This ensures that all data received from the broker is preserved and not just the latest value.

Additionally, a backup MQTT broker can be defined to ensure reliable Automated Communications Failover..

Transfer Data to Industry 4.0 Data Sources

Use the OAS Data Route product to transfer data to Modbus, Allen Bradley PLCs, Siemens S7 Controllers, OPC UA, OPC DA, MQTT, Sparkplug B, MTConnect, AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, Azure Event Hubs, Kafka, .NET, REST Clients, and Databases.

Common Use Cases

Data Transfer

Transfer data locally and remotely to Industry 4.0 data sources, IoT Cloud Systems, and other MQTT Brokers using the Data Route feature.

Sparkplug B Host Application

Connect to Sparkplug B Edge of Network nodes with automated tag creation.

IoT Publish

Automatically create JSON packets with industrial data and publish to MQTT Brokers based on events, time of day, data changes, or continuously, with optionally data backup using Store and Forward.
